    Hi,
Had a customer bring in hp 15-bs 158sa laptop that they had a bios update fail and rendered the laptop dead.
I have tried the hp recovery method (windows key + B key pressed) with usb bios recovery plugged in and the laptop remains unresponsive. The fan is running and the start button functions normal (i.e.: hold it down for a few seconds and it turns off, so I am pretty sure that the bios is big time corrupt.
I have tried reading the chip by using the clip method but it does not work, so have removed the chip and it can be read. (Still not sure what one to pick from the list)
The chip is Winbond 25Q64JVS1Q 1733
    Motherboard DKL50 LA-E802P Rev: 1.0
Is this something that is fixable as its not a password issue?
    Thanks

I turned it on left it for about 10 seconds and was able to enter the bios..
Yes it all seems ok, it looks as if the customer was updating the bios as windows 10 was doing a version update as when I had to wait about 20 mins for it to start. I have just updated the bios as well.

    Thank YOU
